According to Eater Nashville, the owners of North Nashville’s Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria are planning to expand to Atlanta. The question is, in what neighborhood?
Slim & Husky’s owners and longtime friends since their days at Tennessee State University Clinton Gray, Derrick Moore, and Emanuel Reed could be eyeing the historic West End or Westview neighborhoods just south of I-20.
Eater Nashville reports,
They have plans to take the Slim & Husky’s concept to Atlanta, with Gray telling the NBJ [Nashville Business Journal] that they have “secured a space in a neighborhood with a similar character to Buchanan Street and which sits close to multiple historically black universities.”
Eater Atlanta has reached out to the owners to confirm both the Atlanta expansion and the exact location of the restaurant.
The Nashville-based pizzeria offers signature pizza pies like the P.R.E.A.M. with white sauce, a blend of cheeses, spinach, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, and red onions and the vegan pizza Ain’t Nothin’ But A ‘V’ Thang with bean ragu, vegan cheese, caramelized onions, roasted peppers, and oven-roasted corn. The restaurant focuses on the use of local ingredients as well as local beer offerings.
UPDATE
Owner, Clinton Gray has confirmed to Eater Atlanta that Slim & Husky’s Atlanta restaurant will be located at 581 Metropolitan Parkway SW in Adair Park on the edge of West End. Gray and his partners, Reed and Moore, plan to tear down the existing structure on the corner of Metropolitan Parkway and Wells Street for a complete rebuild of the restaurant.
Eater Atlanta will be tracking the progress of Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria.
