Castleberry Hill will soon have a new cocktail bar when Parlor opens on Peters Street Wednesday, October 24. The premise behind the bar is modeled after the parlors found in 19th-century homes, where people would gather following dinner to chat and sip digestifs. The pre-Prohibition-inspired “cocktail den” hopes to “recreate” that experience for its 21st-century drinkers, according to the press release.
Parlor will serve shared plates by Q Matisse Myers (executive chef at the Southern Gentleman) and cocktails by Mike Jones (formerly of The Consulate.) Both are consulting on the menus for Parlor.
The bar, however, is anything but frumpy. Flags of Origins, which handled the interiors of newly-opened Italian restaurant Adalina, also designed Parlor. The bar’s interior mixes bygone era and modern day with pendant lighting, trendy wallpaper, and bistro tables.
Parlor is owned by Alphonzo Cross of brand development company Quintessential.
249-A Peters Street SW, Atlanta.
