Citizen Supply — a marketplace on the second floor of Ponce City Market (PCM) — is opening a small restaurant and bar called Likewise Eatery. It’s unclear when Likewise will open, but it could be during the holiday shopping season. Likewise, located inside Citizen Supply, seats 25 people in the communal lounge, with additional seating for 20 at the bar, run by Ben Richardson (Staplehouse, H. Harper Station.) Jason Jimenez of Kitchen Six serves as chef.
The 12,000-square-foot marketplace hopes to create an “approachable hang-out” for shoppers to dine and drink while perusing the more than 160 artists and apparel brands. Think the department store cafes of yore, where people would take a load off between shopping with coffee and a hot meal.
Richardson’s cocktails, such as the Cats and Dogs with vodka, aperitivo, and grapefruit topped with fizzy water or the bourbon-based Eastwood consisting of vermouth, sherry, and amaro, are meant to pair with light bites and small plates from Jimenez.
Citizen Supply is kicking off its new, weekend flea market and in-store greenhouse filled with tropical plants and garden items on Saturday, November 24. The flea market is open 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
