Popular Health-Focused Restaurant Expanding Again in Midtown

MetroFresh to open a second location (again) on Peachtree Street next spring

MetroFresh in Midtown Atlanta MetroFresh

The fast casual, health food-focused restaurant MetroFresh in the Midtown Promenade complex on Monroe Drive will soon have a sister location in the One Midtown Plaza on Peachtree Street, What Now Atlanta reports. The 1,880-square-foot restaurant called MetroFresh Uptown will be located in the lobby and should open in early April 2019.

Owner Mitchell Anderson says he’s “trying to take advantage of the redevelopment” occurring along this particular stretch of Peachtree and West Peachtree Streets. Not to mention the area’s weekday workforce and visitors to the nearby High Museum of Art, likely to take advantage of the restaurant’s lighter lunch and dinner fare.

One Midtown is located less than a block from the High Museum of Art and the Woodruff Arts Center and a short walk from the Arts Center MARTA station.

Much like the original location, Uptown will serve breakfast and lunch, along with “after work tapas” and happy hour at Bar MetroFresh from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A patio is also planned in the adjacent plaza.

This isn’t the first time Anderson has expanded MetroFresh in Midtown. He opened a second location in 2011 at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. It closed in 2013. However, the original MetroFresh location remains a popular spot for area residents and workers seeking a quick and healthy meal in Midtown, serving freshly-made soups, salads, and sandwiches, and larger entrees in the evenings. The menu is seasonal and changes frequently.
