Biltong Bar’s second location opens today at the luxury retail complex Shops Buckhead for top quality beef jerky and seriously boozy cocktails. This is a greatly-expanded version of its Ponce City Market (PCM) sibling at 6,500-square-feet. Unlike PCM, however, Biltong-Buckhead is open for dinner and late night. Lunch begins in January.
Executive chef Matt Weinstein has bulked up the beef jerky selections in Buckhead and added a few new additions — there’s now a pork shank, tandoori chicken wings, a hot chicken sandwich, and smoked peri-peri trout on the menu.
“I love working with international fare, and South African fare encompasses a mix of several cuisines including Indian, French, and Malaysian,” Weinstein said in August.

To complement Weinstein’s meaty menu, beverage director Sean Gleason has created cocktails relying heavily on rum, scotch, rye whiskey, and bourbon as base spirits accented by French vermouth, amari, and sherry.
The restaurant’s design features a long, 30-seat bar, a lounge with games, and a dining room with dark woods and leather. Biltong-Buckhead is also selling grab-and-go items such as spices, rubs, and sodas.
