Cowtippers might really be closing this time

Questions arise again in the will they or won’t they shutter saga of popular LGBTQ steakhouse and bar Cowtippers. The Midtown restaurant, located on Piedmont Avenue, could be demolished to make way for a Chase bank, according to multiple reports — including Tomorrow’s News Today and Project Q. Cowtippers was saved — albeit temporarily — last winter following an outpouring of public support to keep it open. The property on which the restaurant resides is up for sale. [ToNT/ProjQ]

A new brewpub in Oakhurst

The team behind Argosy in East Atlanta Village plan to open Sceptre Brewing Arts at 630 East Lake Drive in Oakhurst Village early next year, according to the AJC. The brewpub will serve “beer friendly pairings, elevated comfort food, and refined pub classics.” [AJC]

True Food Kitchen opening second metro Atlanta location in Alpharetta

Alpharetta’s Avalon will soon be home to metro Atlanta’s second “health-conscious dining” restaurant True Food Kitchen. The restaurant’s first Atlanta location opened at Lenox Square Mall in 2014. True Food-Alpharetta should open late next year across from Crate & Barrel. [Official]

Pour de Leon is Whole Food’s Answer to Costco’s Food Court and Kroger’s KroBar

Whole Foods’ new 365 store on Church Street in North Decatur is getting in on the dine and drink while shopping experience. Pour de Leon, located on the second floor of the grocery store, will include 12 beers, wines, and ciders on tap, hot food likes pretzels and empanadas, two TVs, and a collection of classic arcade games, according to the press release. Pour de Leon and 365 both open Wednesday, December 12. [Official]

HobNob opens third location in Dunwoody

The Dunwoody location of HobNob Neighborhood Tavern opens Wednesday, December 12 at the Perimeter Place complex anchored by Super Target. Hobnob’s original outpost in Midtown is located at the corner of Monroe and Piedmont, with a second location in Brookhaven near CineBistro. [Official]
