Queen of Cream, the Old Fourth Ward ice cream and coffee shop owned by pastry chef Cora Cotrim, is opening a second location at Plaza on Ponce along Ponce De Leon Avenue next year, Tomorrow’s News Today reports. And, LA import Jinya Ramen Bar is also planning to open another location in the complex, located at the corner of Ponce De Leon and North Highland Avenues in Poncey-Highland.
Cotrim and Jinya join current Gunshow executive chef Joey Ward and his two new restaurants, Georgia Boy and Southern Belle, in the shopping center — home to the historic Plaza Theatre and next door to the 24/7 Majestic Diner.
Queen of Cream’s new, much smaller shop, is located along Cleburne Terrace between Insomnia Cookies and the Majestic. The shop creates all of their ice creams, like lavender honeycomb and sprinkle cookie, from scratch using dairy sourced from a family-run farm in Waynesboro, Georgia. Queen of Cream also offers vegan flavors, including its popular black pearl ice cream, made with coconut milk and coconut ash.
Jinya will occupy suites 3 A, B, and C at 675 North Highland in the back of the complex. The ramen restaurant is planning to open a location in Alpharetta on South Broad Street at the City Walk complex near Restaurant Holmes in 2019. Jinya already has two Atlanta locations — one in Sandy Springs and the other in Buckhead.
