Riverside neighborhood bar and restaurant Public House 28 (Pub 28,) backed by the owners of Big Easy Grille on Collier Road and Westside Pizzeria on Marietta Boulevard, is open on Bolton Road in northwest Atlanta. It occupies the former Factory Bar & Grill space.
Pub 28 serves lunch and dinner. The menu includes shareable appetizers such as rosemary chicken skewers and Italian meatballs, salads like the Southwest chicken with roasted corn, avocado, black beans, and tortilla strips, a handful of burgers, and sandwiches, including a meatball sub and cheesesteak. A full bar offers cocktails, wine, and local beers.

The “28” in the name refers to fire station number 28 — the “pride of Riverside” — located nearby on Hollywood Road since 1954. Like Atlanta’s neighborhood Kroger grocery stores given monikers by locals (the “disco” Kroger and the infamous “murder” Kroger — now benignly known as “Beltline” Kroger,) city fire houses have adopted their own mottos. Atlanta fire station number 15, for instance, refers to itself as “The Night Train” for its many late night runs through Midtown.
