Publico Kitchen & Bar, located in the old Front Page News space on Crescent Avenue in Midtown, isn’t letting a little cold weather get in the way of patio time this winter. Next Thursday, December 13, the restaurant will debut six private, geodesic igloo domes (with heat) for cold-weather dining on its turf patio. They’re dog-friendly, too.
Details — like how to reserve an igloo and seating capacity — are still being worked out but, a restaurant representative says all igloos are first come, first served if they’re not already reserved ahead of time. Throughout Super Bowl week in Atlanta, the igloos will be alight with the colors of the two teams going head-to-head during the big game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, February 3, 2019.
It’s unclear how fancy pants these igloos will be in terms of size or how they’ll fare against the elements during Atlanta’s highly unpredictable winter weather. Here’s an example of what the igloos might look like once assembled.

The Columbia, South Carolina-based Publico labels itself a Latin-Asian restaurant, serving tacos, bánh mì, burritos, and ramen, along with weekend brunch.
In other Atlanta-based igloo news, Ponce City Market’s rooftop terrace has transformed into “Skate the Sky” ice rink, which is surrounded by geo dome dining igloos until January 13, 2019. The igloos are only available by pre-paid reservation for up to two hours and hold no more than eight people. But, they do offer a s’mores bar.
