Chef Ford Fry is on the move again. The empire-building restaurateur announced he is moving forward with plans to open three restaurants in the Germantown neighborhood of Nashville. Eater Nashville reported on Monday the projects have been in the works since 2016.
All three Nashville-based restaurants are expected to open some time in 2018 and will be located in the Hammer Mill development at 1400 Adams Street.
The Sea Wolf is a “mostly seafood” restaurant similar to Atlanta’s The Optimist and will include a large outdoor patio and game area. The Sea Wolf will serve casual, wood-fired dishes with a focus on sustainable seafood.
Adjacent to The Sea Wolf’s main dining room will be Star Rover, which Fry has billed as a “honky tonk meets taqueria-inspired snack bar” with live music. The menu will feature shareable dishes such as salsas, queso, tostadas, and ceviches. Expect whiskey and mezcal cocktails, margaritas, and craft beer on the beverage menu.
Lastly, Fry plans to open a cocktail lounge named Le Loup (the Wolf) located on the second floor. He describes the bar as “French-y, dimly lit, and over the top.” Le Loup will serve classic cocktails, roasted oysters, and seafood towers.
In other Ford Fry news, Eater Houston reported last week on the chef’s latest project in Space City, La Lucha; a “Gulf-centric”, Texas-inspired bar located next door to the forthcoming Houston outpost of his popular Tex-Mex restaurant Superica.
