Saturday Night Live cast member and comedian Leslie Jones took to Twitter and Instagram Tuesday evening to accuse Buckhead’s Atlanta Fish Market of “the worst service I’ve EVER gotten.” Jones said the restaurant’s manager also gave her the “worse attitude EVER” and then told her to never come back.
It’s not immediately clear what started the fracas between Jones and Atlanta Fish Market, but the comedian alluded to a less than satisfactory meal or what she described as “nasty”. Eater Atlanta learned of the incident after receiving a tip Tuesday evening from a reader.
Atlanta Fish Market attempted to make it right on Twitter, apologizing for the treatment Jones received earlier in the evening. She responded by calling the manager “snobby” and then accused him of racial profiling.
Fans of Jones quickly came to her defense on social media, some calling for a boycott of the restaurant while others pleaded with her to not allow this experience to sour her on the city. There were also offers from social media users to cook Jones a meal, and a few suggestions on other Atlanta restaurants to try, including Sweet Auburn Seafood, chef Ford Fry’s The Optimist, chef Anne Quatrano’s Bacchanalia, and chef Gerry Klaskala’s Aria.
Eater Atlanta has reached out to Atlanta Fish Market and Ms. Jones for comment on the incident and will update this story if additional information becomes available.
