The Hotel Clermont’s forthcoming restaurant Tiny Lou’s is hiring
Those eager to eat at Tiny Lou’s located in the newly-renovated Hotel Clermont (home to the infamous Clermont Lounge) might not have much longer to wait. It seems the hotel’s forthcoming restaurant is hiring. According to their Facebook page, Tiny Lou’s is holding a job fair at Paris on Ponce this Saturday, February 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. [FACEBOOK]
Decatur Market on East Howard Avenue is open
The new grocery and deli across the street from Kimball House in Decatur is officially open for business. The market sells groceries, beer, wine, and includes a deli consisting of pre-made sandwiches and food. A grand opening is planned for Friday, February 9. The deli will be showcased during the all-day celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and local vendors will be on hand starting at 6 p.m. with free tastings. Ms. Icey’s Kitchen and Bar replacing Decatur’s Mason Tavern
According to Tomorrow’s New Today, Ms. Icey’s will replace the beleaguered Mason Tavern on Clairmont Road in Decatur. The restaurant is the latest project from Negril Village owner Sim Walker and is named for his grandmother, Icelyn Walker. Ms. Icey’s may open as soon as the end of February. No details were provided as to the type of cuisine to be featured on the menu. [ToNT]
Emerald City Bagels now offering griddled bagels
The newly-opened bagel shop is still awaiting the arrival of their commercial toaster but, in the meantime, Emerald City is offering griddled bagels and fried eggs on the menu. The bagel shop opened two weeks ago on Glenwood Avenue in East Atlanta Village. [INSTAGRAM]
Midtown’s World of Beer apparently shutters...maybe
The craft beer bar which claims to serve over 500 beers from around the world has apparently closed on Peachtree Street. This, according to What Now Atlanta who was tipped off to the sudden closure by a reader who snapped a photo of a sign taped to the front door which read “closed for business”. The bar’s Facebook page was active 24 hours ago and made mention of Valentine’s Day. It’s unclear at this time if the shutter is temporary or permanent. Eater Atlanta has reached out to World of Beer for comment on the closure. [WNA]
