Blu Cantina set to take over Tomatillos locale in East Atlanta
Tomatillos closed for good on Sunday, March 11 but East Atlanta Village won’t have to wait long for the next taco spot to open in its place. Blu Cantina, formerly located in Castleberry Hill, is slated to reopen in the Tomatillos space in April. Owner Corrina Martinez is planning a family-friendly burrito, taco, and empanada restaurant that will transition into an adults-only, late-night spot for the post-dinner crowd seeking cocktails and after hours bites. New OTP breakfast, brunch, and lunch cafe
According to Instagram and a reader tip, Hen Mother Cookhouse will open this May in the former Farmhouse Coffee and Cafe space in Johns Creek. The new OTP breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot will be located next door to Taylor Brooks Hair Salon in the same complex as Bonefish Grill at 11705 Jones Bridge Road. [Instagram]

Loaded baked potato restaurant opening in Westview
Westview is getting a loaded baked potato restaurant in March. My Potato Factory serves fully-loaded baked potatoes with a variety of toppings, according to its website. This includes a potato topped with shrimp gumbo and chicken sausage. The restaurant, owned and operated by chef Tonya Morris, closed its downtown Atlanta location and will reopen at 1521 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard SW. Morris plans on involving the restaurant in community initiatives, including local food banks and charities. She’s calling the initiative the 3E Program which stands for educate, employ, and empower. Sandy Springs pizzeria and brewery opening is imminent
It may not be long now before Porter Pizza and Brewery crafting “New England IPAs” and serving New York style pizza opens at 6370 Powers Ferry Road in Sandy Springs. According to the pizzeria and microbrewery’s Facebook page, the opening could come as soon as the end of March. [Facebook]

Annual Atlanta Food and Wine Festival tickets on sale Friday
Early bird tickets to the eighth annual Atlanta Food & Wine Festival will go on sale Friday, March 16. The four-day food and drink festival held in Midtown May 31 through June 3 includes educational classes and tastings, kitchen demos, ticketed dinners, and the Piedmont Park tasting tents. Early bird pricing ranges from $85 for a one day tasting tent pass to the $1500 all-inclusive (and exclusive) connoisseur package. [Official]
