Deep Roots Wine Market & Tasting Room is set to open at 1055 Canton Street in historic Roswell this May. The wine market will be located next to soup, salad, and sandwich spot Plum Cafe.

Owner Dana Gurela (a sommelier and certified California wine appellation specialist) says Deep Roots will feature wines from California, including harder to find bottles aimed at wine collectors. The tasting room will act as a self-guided (self-serve) tour of Napa Valley’s wineries using pre-paid swipe cards to sample up to 24 wines from various pouring stations. Tasting room patrons can order food to be delivered from neighboring Plum Cafe.

“We want to take the stuffiness and pretense out of the wine sampling and purchasing process,” Gurela said via press release. “Everyone will feel at home at Deep Roots, whether you’re still learning about wine or eager to add bottles to your home collection.”

Gurela spent five years traveling throughout California’s wine country and was the hospitality and wine educator for Napa Valley’s Eleven Eleven Winery.
