Heirloom Market BBQ will reopen on Wednesday, April 18 at 11 a.m. The popular Cobb County barbecue spot owned by the husband-and-wife team of chefs Cody Taylor and Jiyeon Lee closed temporarily following a fire Friday night. The fire was contained to the smokehouse. No word on what caused the blaze.
Taylor told Eater Atlanta over the weekend both of Heirloom’s smokers are “out of commission” and they would be smoking the restaurant’s meats from their barbecue trailer parked next door. The restaurant and kitchen area were not damaged in the fire.
Until the smokehouse is rebuilt, Heirloom plans to serve an abbreviated menu and include a specials board which will change daily. The restaurant’s hours are being adjusted, too. Heirloom will remain open until the food runs out.
Taylor asks that people follow the restaurant on Instagram and Facebook for day-to-day updates. The couple is finalizing Heirloom’s smaller menu today.
