Dad’s Coffee Bar, a coffee shop and live music venue opening later this summer east of Decatur, is changing its name to Waller’s Coffee Shop. Owner Jason Waller made the name change announcement on Facebook. Waller’s will be located at 240 Dekalb Industiral Way.

The coffee bar (with wifi) plans to serve Batdorf and Bronson coffee and be an intimate live music venue for local musicians, poets, and spoken word artists. Waller told Eater Atlanta in February the premise behind the shop began with his D.A.D. Presents (Depression Awareness Dude) videos. The videos feature performances and interviews with local musicians and artists living with disorders such as depression or addiction. The new coffee shop will continue Waller’s mission to break down the stigmas often associated with mental illness.

In addition to live music, Waller plans to host educational classes, family-friendly events, support groups, and possibly a disc golf tournament.

Renovations are currently underway on the property.

Waller has been popping up around Atlanta with his mobile coffee bar over the last year. He’s scheduled to be at Wondershop in Candler Park Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Starting May 1st 2018 I will be doing business as Waller’s Coffee Shop. The mission remains the same. D.A.D. Presents...
