The owners announced the closure on Facebook Saturday. It seems rent—which according to one owner doubled under the deli’s new landlord—is to blame. Toco Hills Shopping Center is owned by real estate development firm Edens.

It will be sad to wake up and not be able to go home to the Bagel Palace.”
