SweetWater Brewing Company is adding a restaurant to its brewery on Ottley Drive, What Now Atlanta reports. Renovations to the existing taproom include a kitchen, a lounge/pub area, extending the patio, and a new four-sided bar which opens to the courtyard. The brewery is unsure when the restaurant will open.
A representative for SweetWater tells Eater Atlanta they began talking about incorporating food into the taproom when Georgia’s new liquor law went into effect September 1, 2017. The law now allows the sale of food at breweries and distilleries without a special event permit.
SweetWater is still considering the type of food they plan to serve but says of the menu, “We’ve spent since September 1 [2017] asking customers what they’d want here, and are weighing our options. We’ll continue to do that.”
The brewery typically provides an on-site food truck when the taproom is open.
In December, SweetWater opened Last Cast Bar and Grill on Concourse B at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. That restaurant is operated by Concessions International. SweetWater’s representative says Last Cast is a separate entity from the brewery’s restaurant.
