Last Minute Mother’s Day Ideas and Reservations in Atlanta

Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 13) can be tricky to navigate when it comes to securing that all-important restaurant reservation for brunch. Time slots on the day quickly fill up weeks before the holiday. While there are still some last minute reservations to be found on OpenTable and Resy, these restaurants are bringing something special to the table for mom on her day. Check back for updates or new ideas on where to dine on Mother’s Day.

Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails
Located in the heart of the Crabapple district in Alpharetta, Milton’s is making Mother’s Day an evening affair. Avoid the OTP brunch crowds with a three-course, prix fixe dinner which includes pickled shrimp toast, fried chicken or grilled sirloin steak, and blueberry-lavender panna cotta for dessert. Dinner is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. $40 per person. Reservations required. 800 Mayfield Road, Alpharetta.

Snackboxe Bistro
The Laotian restaurant in the Peachtree Pavilion complex in Doraville is hosting a Mother’s Day pop-up flower shop. Florists In.flor.escence will be on site with mini bouquets and flower arrangements along with complimentary chocolate covered strawberries with each purchase. Or, DIY it at the pop-up’s floral bar. Afterward, grab lunch with mom at Snackboxe Bistro. Flowers are available for pre-order or pick-up. Limited quantities and first-come, first-served. Chef Gerry Klaskala’s iconic fine dining restaurant in Buckhead (with its incredible wine collection) is opening its doors on a Sunday just for mom. Dinner is from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Book a table through Reserve or call 404-233-7673. 490 East Paces Ferry Road NE, Atlanta.

The Mourning Dove
The all-day cafe and coffee shop located in Shops Buckhead is hosting a Mother’s Day pop-up event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chef Andrea Kirshtein is putting together a special menu for mom. Atlanta florist Vine & Olive Design will be on site selling foraged and locally-sourced flower arrangements for under $25. Reservations are not required but accepted. 3059 Peachtree Road NE #210, Atlanta.

Jim Adams Farm & Table
Newly-opened in Riverside on Atlanta’s Westside, this market and cafe is treating mom to a four-course meal with complimentary flowers, bottomless mimosas and bellinis, and a basket of local produce for the table. Reservations are required and pre-paid. Take a look at the menu and reserve here for a 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., or 3:30 p.m. time slot. $50 per person. 2011 Bolton Road NW #109, Atlanta.

Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours
Located on Huff Road in Westside, Twisted Soul wants to bring a bit of Paris to mom on her day. Chef/owner Deborah VanTrece has included on the brunch menu items like lobster bisque, crab cake benedict, brioche French toast, and sweet potato duck hash. A roast beef carving station is also available. The cocktail of the day is the gin and Champagne-based French 75. Brunch is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. $50 per person. Children ages 13-17 are $30. D Cafe and Catering
D Cafe wants mom to feel extra special while also giving back to charity. The Westview cafe is offering a soul food buffet on Sunday which includes chicken and waffles and fish and grits. Bottomless mimosas and bloody marys are also part of the Mother’s Day celebration. A portion of the brunch proceeds will go to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Atlanta. $35 per person. Brush Sushi
Treat mom to some of Atlanta’s best sushi at this Eater 38 sushi staple. The Decatur sushi and Japanese small plates restaurant owned by chef Jason Liang is offering a Mother’s Day omakase Friday, May 11 through Sunday, May 13. Twains Brewpub & Billiards
Maybe Mom isn’t a regular mom, but a cool mom and just wants to relax with a few beers and shoot some pool on Mother’s Day. Twain’s brunch includes dishes like a biscuit with egg, pimento cheese, jalapenos, bacon, and fried green tomato or corned beef hash.
