Brush Sushi Izakaya’s Midtown sibling is almost here. Jason Liang and John Chen’s highly anticipated fast-casual Japanese spot Momonoki hopes to open this week, according to Chen.
Momonoki, which translates to “peachtree” in Japanese, will serve ramen, tsukemen (dipping ramen), katsu sandos (Japanese cutlet sandwiches), and donburi along with salads and small plates. On the beverage side, their full bar is loaded with cocktails, sake, wine and local and Japanese brews on tap as well as in cans and bottles.
Momonoki is adjacent to Momo Cafe, located in the Modera by Mill Creek mixed-use development at 95 Eighth Street NW.
“We picked midtown because we see the growth in the area and feel we can fill a demand for quality Japanese comfort fare and a unique café,” Chen said.
