Alton Brown Adopts Local Shelter Dog

Plus, a new dog-park-restaurant-bar opens Saturday

America’s dorky food dad is a dog dad, too
After getting engaged to local restaurant and interior designer Elizabeth Ingram in April, Alton Brown has taken another big step and adopted a Boston terrier named Abigail (aka Scabigail).

Last year, the Marietta-based Food Network star, bow tie designer, and musician announced his forthcoming Good Eats revival. ‘Return of the Eats’ is set to drop online this year.

The Atlanta Humane Society rescued Abigail and 77 other dogs from a neglectful home in Murray County on May 23. She was covered in mange and infected from scratching but healed under Atlanta Humane’s care. Brown plans to keep her name. Hopefully Scabigail’s social media posts won’t slow down as she adjusts to her new life.

Fetch Park & Ice House to open this Saturday
Old Fourth Ward’s dog-park-restaurant-bar hybrid will open this weekend, minus the bar, says owner Stephen Ochs. Starting at 7:30 a.m. they’ll be serving brews (as well as an exclusive nitro cold brew) from West Midtown’s Firelight Coffee. Fetch’s services include Bark Rangers and dog-friendly ride collaborations with Lymousine.
