Coalition Food & Beverage from Roswell restaurateur Ryan Pernice (Table & Main, Osteria Mattone) is now open for dinner in Alpharetta. The restaurant, located at 50 Canton Street in Teasley Place, is what Pernice considers a modern interpretation of the classic American diner.
This new restaurant is all Alpharetta’s gain. The city’s rapidly transforming downtown could benefit from a little of the magic Pernice brought to Roswell in 2011 when he opened his classic southern tavern Table & Main. That restaurant helped to further transform Roswell’s historic Canton Street into the OTP dining destination it is today.
Coalition’s menu mixes familiar diner dishes with the polished touches patrons of Table & Main have become accustom to under executive chef Woolery Back. Back also leads the kitchen at Coalition. Expect burgers, big sandwiches, and banana splits alongside sustainably-sourced salmon with Carolina gold rice and a 12-ounce New York strip with Madeira and veal jus glazed button mushrooms.
Coalition is another brotherly endeavor for Pernice. Sommelier Dan Pernice will pull double duty; acting as the beverage director for Osteria Mattone in Roswell and Coalition. The wine list centers around bottles from vineyards in California, Washington, and Oregon. The beverage menu offers a majority-local list of beers along with an assortment of cocktails, which lean classic and rum and whiskey-heavy.
The 145-seat restaurant in the center of downtown Alpharetta includes an indoor and outdoor bar and a patio. Lunch and brunch begin in a few weeks.
