A mysterious Instagram post appeared this afternoon from shuttered Buckhead coffee shop Bar Crema with a photo of an unidentified hand holding a to-go cup in front of The Pinewood in Decatur. The post reads, “Hmmm...” followed by the thinking and winking face emojis.
Bar Crema and its adjacent Italian restaurant Bar Americano closed at the East Andrews District in April. Both were owned by the 10 Apart team who also own the Pinewood as well as The Mercury and Deep End in the Old Fourth Ward.
The Instagram post seems to indicate that Bar Crema could be returning in some form or fashion at the Pinewood. Whether that is as a part of the current beverage offerings at the restaurant and whiskey bar or as its own separate spot is unknown at this time.
The newly-expanded portion of the Pinewood is certainly large enough to accommodate a small coffee counter or shop. It could be an attractive option for passersby looking to grab caffeine and relax or do some work in the restaurant’s front lounge area.

Eater Atlanta reached out to Pinewood co-owner Julian Goglia for confirmation on the coffee conundrum. His response—a shrugging emoji. In other words, stay tuned.
