Chef-owner Hector Santiago is opening the second outpost of his Ponce City Market (PCM) Latin sandwich bar El Super Pan at Battery Atlanta (Braves SunTrust Park) later this month. The OTP locale is just down from El Felix—Ford Fry’s Tex-Mex restaurant—at the corner of Legends Place and Battery Walk.
The 4200-square-foot, full-service restaurant is a far cry from the small, counter-serve kiosk at PCM and allows Santiago to expand his menu and the bar program.
El Super Pan-Battery seats 90 inside and an additional 40 on the enclosed patio. That patio features a bar serving frozen margaritas and cocktails. There’s also a private dining room (with its own bar) named El Salon Tropical that seats up to 40 people.
For those unfamiliar with the offerings at El Super Pan, the dishes are what Santiago describes as “classic Latino bakery food”, like cubanos, pastelitos (Cuban pastry), and roasted sweet plantains. The chef’s Cubano Mixto pressed sandwich with roasted pork, ham, salami, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard served on Cuban bread thankfully made the OTP menu as did his mofongos—mashed, fried plantains, and Puerto Rico’s unofficial national dish.
Santiago is also planning a revolving menu of the day or “El Menu del Dia” consisting of Caribbean dishes like sour orange roasted chicken or ropa vieja (Cuban slow-cooked, shredded beef). Dinner will also include slow grilled meat dishes.

The restaurant is an all-day affair—open breakfast through dinner, seven days a week. Breakfast begins at 9 a.m. and features dishes such as savory and sweet pastelillos and steamed farm eggs topped with chorizo, onions, adobo roasted vegetables, and anchovy-garlic confit. El Super Pan-Battery’s Caribbean coffee shop will open for breakfast, serving Cuban and Puerto Rican cafe drinks
Cocktails will lean Caribbean and classic with piña coladas, Cuba libres, pisco sours, and mojitos. Beers such as Imperial, Modelo, and Presidente and a few local selections will be on tap and available in cans. Wines from Argentina, Chile, and Spain round out the beverage menu.
