WESTSIDE: After severing ties with yet-to-open Mouth of the South restaurant in Cabbagetown, Illegal Food announced it’s popping up at Second Self Beer. Catch them at the brewery Friday, July 20, Thursday, July 26 and every Thursday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. throughout August. No word as to whether Illegal’s sought after Hank Burger will make an appearance. 1317 Logan Circle NW, Atlanta.
GWINNETT COUNTY: Fans of the Netflix hit sci-fi series Stranger Things got a sneak peek at Season 3 starring Gwinnett Place Mall as “Starcourt”. The series sees the mall based in Hawkins, Indiana. The Gwinnett Place food court gets a 1980s makeover, complete with an Orange Julius, Burger King, and a fictitious ice cream shop, Scoops Ahoy. What other GenX food court gems will be revealed at Starcourt when Season 3 debuts remains to be seen. [EATER]
OLD FOURTH WARD/INMAN PARK: Two popular Atlanta bars celebrated birthdays this past week. Casual trattoria by day, dance club by night Noni’s Deli on Edgewood Avenue turned ten years old. They celebrated the decade-old milestone with a big blowout that included a a dunk dank and DJ. That party went well into the wee hours. Back in Inman Park, neighborhood pub The Albert rang in its eleventh year in Atlanta with shots, balloons, PBR, and the Nachyo Burger.
