Want a taste of Wood’s Chapel BBQ from chef Todd Ginsberg and the General Muir gang before it opens later this year in Summerhill? Ginsberg is serving whole hog, barbecue tacos for $2 each at the Krog Street Market (KSM) Superica on Thursday, August 2 starting at 9 p.m.
The evening also includes live music from Moontower—a band which seems to have a wild musical range (from classic rock to Southern to funk, blues, and disco).
Wood’s Chapel BBQ is named for one of the first churches established in the Summerhill community following the Civil War and will serve whole hog and brisket barbecue smoked in wood-fired pits.
Ginsberg told Eater Atlanta in January, the restaurant’s menu should consist of barbecue plates, sandwiches like fried, smoked catfish, a barbecue-inspired Cuban sandwich, brisket grilled cheese, and lamb belly cemita or torta. In other words, these tacos could be a public test run for Wood’s Chapel BBQ’s menu.
Superica-KSM hosts live music and guest chefs every first Thursday of the month. Catch the creator of the world’s best lobster roll—remember that—BeetleCat’s chef Andrew Isabella on September 6.
