Marietta’s Doughnut Dollies on Cherokee Street is temporarily closed for repairs after a car ran into the building. No one was injured in the accident which occurred on Sunday evening. It’s unclear what caused the driver to hit the building. The shop hopes to reopen sometime later this week.

Doughnut Dollies announced the closure on Instagram early Tuesday morning. The damage is centered around the building’s exterior. The car crashed into the front of Canvas Cafe and the back of Doughnut Dollies. While there was no damage to Canvas Cafe, Doughnut Dollies suffered minor damage to its kitchen. A range hood needs to be replaced.

“No one was injured, but a few repairs need to be made,” a representative for the doughnut shop says. “We don’t think it will take long. Hopefully, not more than a couple of days.”

Doughnut Dollies is opening a second location on Howell Mill Road near Collier Road this summer. The shop offers classic and speciality doughnuts and is named for the wartime Red Cross volunteers who delivered coffee and doughnuts to U.S. soldiers. Gluten free and alphabet letter doughnuts are also available.
