The damage to Doughnut Dollies’ production kitchen is more extensive than first presumed. The Marietta doughnut shop will remain closed until further notice.

Doughnut Dollies provided an update on the situation via Instagram Thursday morning. The post shows a white pick-up truck wedged underneath a deck belonging to neighboring sandwich shop Canvas Cafe. It’s unclear how the pick-up truck managed to run into the building. A police report indicates the driver fled the scene.

The impact occurred along the main waterline to the building, which broke away from the foundation and above the ceiling. The force of the impact penetrated the kitchen at Doughnut Dollies, damaging the stainless steel range hood and walls on the opposite side. Canvas Cafe and Bakery will need to replace and rebuild the deck. They remain open.

Doughnut Dollies is in the process of repairing all of the damage and hopes to reopen soon.

The truck crashed into the front of Canvas Cafe and the back of Doughnut Dollies on Sunday evening. On Tuesday, a representative for Doughnut Dollies told Eater Atlanta there was no damage to the cafe, but the doughnut shop needed to replace a range hood in the kitchen.

Update, July 26, 3 p.m.: This story was updated with new information from the owners of Doughnut Dollies.
