Now Open, This Grant Park Restaurant Serves Fried Pop-Tarts for Breakfast

The all-day gastropub Full Commission is open at Larkin on Memorial in Grant Park. Albeit, for now, with a limited breakfast and coffee menu. The food and beverage offerings will eventually expand to dinner, drinks, and weekend brunch. No ETA on when Full Commission will begin dinner and brunch service, only that both would start in the next few weeks.

Full Commission is currently serving espresso, nitro and cold brew, tea, and Atlanta’s East Pole coffee with quick bites like muffins, cinnamon rolls, cheese toast, and a fried pop-tart filled with jam and slathered in vanilla glaze. Coffee is being overseen by Austin Hewitt (Octane, Bar Crema).

Once the restaurant is fully operational, the menu will expand to include dishes such as a pork tenderloin for dinner and mezcal grit tamales topped with fried eggs and chimichurri for brunch.

Cocktails, wine, and beer are planned for the bar. Expect to see “boozy cocktail libations” listed, including the rye and cognac-based classic sazerac, the paper plane with bourbon and Aperol, Irish coffee, and a Swedish-style coffee with cold brew, aquavit, chicory liqueur, and lemonade. Beer and wine will rotate out with the seasons.

Full Commission seats 45 in its dining room and 10 people at the bar, with more seating located on the covered, all-weather patio. Grant Park native, chef Garrett Wheeler—most recently at Midtown’s The Federal—leads the kitchen.

In May 2017, owner David Traxler told Eater Atlanta, “With the growing demand for well-done food, craft beverages, quality coffee, and personalized service in mind, we’ve created an upscale environment that properly represents the grit and character of the Grant Park neighborhood.”

The restaurant joins Firepit Pizza Tavern, from Cutthroat Kitchen winner and former One Midtown Kitchen chef Leslie Cohen, Grant Park Market, and Kale Me Crazy at Larkin.
