The Brazilian coffee house and bar Buteco is now open at the Beacon complex in Grant Park, the AJC reports. Buteco is currently only serving coffee and pastries in the morning and beer and caipirinhas (cachaça, sugar, lime) later in the day until the kitchen is fully operational this Friday.
Owner Rafael Pereira told What Now Atlanta in February, the restaurant is inspired by his first job at his father’s bakery in São Paolo, Brazil. Buteco, which translates to “neighborhood bar”, serves Brazilian comfort foods such as ham and cheese waffles made from cheese bread, coxinhas (croquettes filed with shredded chicken), and tapioca squares.
Buteco seats 25 people inside with an additional 40 seats on its patio and hopes to be a gathering place for soccer fans during the season.
The all-day cafe and bar joins Mexican restaurant Patria Cocina, which opened at the Beacon on July 16.
Open 7 a.m. until late.
