The opening of Patria Cocina, owned by Roxana and Octavio Aguirre of the sadly shuttered El Mexicano, is postponed until further notice. The Grant Park Mexican restaurant is located in the Beacon complex on Grant Street.
Patria Cocina made the announcement on their Instagram and Facebook accounts this past Friday, stating only “unexpected occurrences” as the reason for the delay. Those following the restaurant’s progress on social media were unsurprisingly disappointed but understanding.
When it finally does open, the couple is promising longtime regulars of El Mexicano that Patria Cocina will serve a similar menu to its popular predecessor along with a few fresh additions. Brunch is also planned.
Eater Atlanta has reached out to the Aguirres for more details.
Family and friends due to some unexpected occurrences we will not be able to do our soft opening on Monday as planned....
