The Varsity caused a feeding frenzy and traffic on Saturday
The Varsity’s chili cheese dogs clogged more than arteries on Saturday. Traffic is always bad in Atlanta, but it was especially onerous on Saturday during the Varsity’s 90-cent menu birthday bash. Cars exiting at North Avenue backed up traffic on the Connector (I-75/I-85) for nearly a quarter mile in both directions throughout most of the late morning into the afternoon. The event drew thousands from around metro Atlanta who waited for hours in the oppressive heat and humidity and then the pouring rain for a 90-cent chili cheese dog and frosted orange. Even mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms made an appearance. Although, she didn’t have to stand in line. [FACEBOOK]
