New coffee shop on the Eastside BeltLine
Chef Nhan Le’s (8ARM, Octopus Bar) new coffee shop 3heart may open soon at Paris on Ponce. The shop is just steps off of the Eastside Beltline trail in the back corner of Paris on Ponce on Ponce de Leon Place behind 8ARM. Local food writer Brad Kaplan posted a photo to his Instagram of the walk-up window at 3heart. A sign out front reads, “coming soon.” Eater Atlanta has reached out to Le for details. [Instagram/EATL]
Blueberry waffles are back at Waffle House, and their food truck goes nationwide
Remember when Atlanta learned there was a Waffle House food truck doling out smothered and covered hash browns five years ago? The 24-hour breakfast chain is now rolling out its food truck nationwide for people in need of catering for their weddings, birthday parties, and boring corporate picnics. In a recent tweet, Waffle House says the truck is traveling to three states this week. In other Waffle House news Atlantans can really use, the Deja Blue blueberry waffles are back on the menu. Another closure in Virginia-Highland
Breakfast and brunch restaurant American Roadhouse on North Highland Road is closing Sunday, August 26 after nearly 30 years in Virginia-Highland, Tomorrow’s News Today reports. However, it’s not all bad news. The owners say they are renovating the restaurant and reopening it “soon” as a second location of Truva Turkish Kitchen. The original Truva is located in downtown Atlanta. [ToNT]
