Estrella, the Latin-style restaurant and cocktail bar located on the rooftop of Bazati, opens August 30 on the Eastside BeltLine trail. It joins the multi-level market’s French restaurant the Brasserie, also opening next Thursday at the Common Grounds complex next door to New Realm Brewing.
Estrella or “star” features an open-air bar overlooking the BeltLine and will serve cocktails like the Hemingway daiquiri, pisco sour, and a gin and tonic from a table side cart along with a deep list of sparkling wines and champagne.
Chef de cuisine Cam Floyd leads the kitchen at Estrella and has created dishes for the menu inspired by the Yucatecan region under the guidance of Mexico’s chef Roberto Solis of the restaurant Nectar in Mérida. Expect mainly small, shared plates like ceviche, cochinita (slow-cooked pork) spring rolls, and chayitas (fried patties made with flour and chaya or spinach leaves.)
Open Wednesday - Sunday at 4 p.m. Weekend brunch is also in the works.
In addition to the restaurant and bar, Bazati includes eight retail shops selling gifts, books, wine, and flowers.
