BeltLine margaritas during Dragon Con
Eastside BeltLine margarita bar Guac y Margys at SPX Alley in the Old Fourth Ward is taking full advantage of the thousands of costumed Dragon Con attendees about to descend upon Atlanta this weekend with a special margarita deal. The bar is open at Full Commission
Full Commission at Grant Park’s Larkin on Memorial is officially open for cocktails, wine, beer, and bar snacks in the evenings. Dinner is still in the works, but a sign out front (and a restaurant representative) says “coming soon”. Full Commission is currently open in the mornings for coffee, breakfast, and brunch and snacks in the afternoon into the evening.
New brunch alert in Buckhead
The new East Paces Ferry sports bar Irby’s Tavern is now serving weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bar’s TVs will be tuned into all manners of sports—including college football, the Falcons, and Atlanta United—throughout the weekend. Salmon hash, an egg white omelette, lobster benedict, and an open-faced biscuit topped with scrambled eggs and pimento cheese slathered in sausage gravy are on the menu. [OFFICIAL]
Shorter days means longer happy hour at Ford Fry’s the Optimist
The Optimist on Howell Mill Road is extending its happy hour on Sundays and Mondays through September. The new Sunday hours are from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The new hours also means new menu items like blow fish tails, roasted oysters, and a gulf shrimp roll along with a rotating list of beers on draft.
