BUCKHEAD: Get ready for the grand opening of Cheesecake Factory’s fancy new lunch and dinner restaurant Grand Lux Cafe opening tomorrow at Phipps Plaza. The restaurant serves a menu devoted to the “the grandeur and luxury of European cafes with the sensibilities and spirit of an all-American restaurant.” Think double-stuffed potato spring rolls, lettuce wraps, and volcano shrimp with molten chocolate cake for dessert. [OFFICIAL]
OLD FOURTH WARD/BELTLINE: The newly-opened margarita bar Guac y Margys acquired its liquor license just in time for a sunny-ish weekend on the Eastside BeltLine. The bar serves nine different margaritas like the Premium AF with reposado tequila and Grand Marnier. Weekday food sticks to chips paired with salsa, queso, guacamole, or a drunken fondue consisting of queso, chorizo, and tequila. An expanded weekend brunch menu includes tacos, breakfast bowls, and Millennial Toast—with avocado, of course. [FACEBOOK]
CABBAGETOWN: Mouth of the South, the restaurant once affiliated with Illegal Food, is now open on Carroll Street, according to Facebook. However, the restaurant may still be waiting for its liquor license. On August 2, Mouth of the South posted a status with #prayingforbooze2018 with no update on the liquor situation since last Thursday. [FACEBOOK]
GRANT PARK: Brazilian cafe and bar Buteco in the Beacon complex is now serving food as well as coffee, cocktails (caipirinhas), and beer. The kitchen opened for service on Friday, August 3. The menu offers bites like ham and cheese waffles, coxinhas (croquettes filed with shredded chicken), mini quiches, hanger steak skewers, and tapioca squares. [FACEBOOK]
DORAVILLE: J Bistro Chinese Cuisine and the Sweet Spot will join Shoya Izakaya, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, and Snackboxe Bistro in the Super HMart shopping center on 6035 Peachtree Road. No other information is available at this time, but paper is up in the windows at both establishments, and the Sweet Spot has a newly-installed neon sign above the door. [EATL]
