SweetWater giving away free beer to furloughed federal workers

SweetWater Brewing Co. wants to give federal workers furloughed by the government shutdown a break. The Atlanta-based brewery located on Ottley Drive in the Armour neighborhood of Buckhead tweeted Wednesday, “If you’re a furloughed federal employee, we think you deserve a beer or two. Show your govt ID to our bar staff and your first two are on us.” [Twitter]

Tin Drum Asian Kitchen sets north Decatur opening date

The Asian food chain is opening its latest location on Saturday, February 9, at 1565 Church Street next to the Whole Foods 365 in north Decatur. To celebrate, complimentary banh mi and Sriracha mango sliders will be offered on the sidewalk outside the restaurant, starting at 11 a.m. The first 50 people to purchase an entree will receive free food for a year — an entree and a drink a month redeemable via Tin Drum’s app. [Official]

Sushi burger bar Cowfish is closed after only two years at Perimeter Mall, Tomorrow’s News Today reports. According to the story, the restaurant was expensive to operate and also received a 48 on its last health inspection in May. The combination was too much to overcome. [ToNT]
