Chef Linton Hopkins making changes at H&F Burger and Holeman & Finch
H&F Burger is taking over Hugh Acheson’s hot dog shack First & Third at SunTrust Park, according to a Q&A with Hopkins by Atlanta Magazine. It reopens January 31 at the ballpark. But, the biggest news sees Hopkins back in the kitchen at Holeman & Finch, taking over for departing chef, Spencer Gomez. “I’m bringing the menu at Holeman & Finch back to how I like to eat, which is how the restaurant started,” Hopkins tells Atlanta Magazine. “I’m working on the perfect roast chicken with mashed potatoes and au jus and adding a vegetable plate.” [ATLMag]
Butcher and farm market Chop Shop readies for opening in Edgewood
Chop Shop, owned by Pinestreet Market’s Rusty Bowers and Riverview Farms’ Wes and Charlotte Swancey, should open in early February at 1366 Memorial Drive SE in Edgewood, the AJC reports. Chop Shop will include a large patio with an area for tables, grills, and smokers where cooking demos, dinners, and talks are to be held to “emphasize the promotion of up-and-coming chefs, farmers, and food crafters.” [AJC/EATL]
