Carolina Panthers quarterback and Atlanta native Cam Newton is opening a restaurant and cigar bar called Fellaship in Castleberry Hill, a few blocks from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta Business Chronicle (ABC) reports. Beginning Friday, Newton will throw a series of parties throughout Super Bowl weekend to give the curious a sneak peek at his new endeavor. Following Sunday’s game at the Benz, Fellaship closes until its official opening in March.
The 4,600-square-foot restaurant and lounge, located at Castleberry Point on Centennial Olympic Park Drive, features a dining room and bar, a mezzanine level, a glass-enclosed wine room, and a speakeasy-inspired VIP lounge, located behind moving bookshelves. Fellaship plans to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner when it opens.
He told ABC Tuesday, in a “perfect world” he would also open Fellaship in Charlotte, but says he’s taking any plans to expand in “baby-steps.”
Newton is hosting three parties at Fellaship to celebrate its impending opening. On Friday, February 1, “The Art of Smoking” party will feature artwork from Newton’s private collection. Saturday’s “Welcome to the 404” soiree includes “moments that shaped sports, culture, fashion, food and music” in Atlanta. But, for those looking to attend a premium Super Bowl party, Fellaship’s watch party promises to be the “best seat in the house”, outside of the stadium itself. All three parties offer food, an open bar, and, of course, cigars.
Tickets start at $150 per person. There’s also a two-person weekend package for $3,000.
