El Tesoro, a small, counter-serve taqueria and coffee shop on Arkwright Place in the Edgewood neighborhood, hopes to open by mid-January. The restaurant, owned by Alan Raines, has been marking its construction progress on Facebook and Instagram since announcing the opening in August. Eater Atlanta recently named El Tesoro one of its most anticipated 2019 winter openings.
The taqueria, located at the corner of Woodbine and Whitefoord Avenues and a half mile from Coan Park, plans to offer Counter Culture coffee and espresso drinks, along with breakfast tacos and burritos throughout the morning, and tamales, quesadillas, and “other Mexican treats” during lunch. Raines will eventually offer dinner and a full bar in the coming months.
