Celebrate Atlanta Pride Weekend at These Brunches and Parade Viewing Parties

Drag brunches, a drag pageant, and parade viewing soirees

Atlanta is a city that lives its LGBTQ Pride all year long, but when National Coming Out Day rolls around each October, the capital of the queer South pulls out all the stops and puts on the Southeast’s largest Pride celebration.

With three official parades, countless parties, and an overabundance of incredible festival offerings, this year’s Atlanta Pride promises to be bigger and better than ever. Here are some of the essential Pride weekend restaurant and bar parties, brunches, and parade viewing events to know. Happy Pride, y’all.


Friday, October 11

Glitz & Glam
Lips Atlanta, 3011 Buford Highway NE
7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. shows. Reservations required.
$12 cover charge

Head to Lips on Buford Highway for dinner and a drag show filled with glamorous gowns and seriously big hair.

Pride Kick Off Fiesta! Mariconera!
Mary’s, 1287 Glenwood Avenue SE
10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Pride kicks off at this dive-y East Atlanta Village gay bar with a night of dancing and drinking to Latin, goth, disco, and house music.

Saturday, October 12

Bottoms Up! A Pop Up Drag Brunch

Join headliner Tammie Brown from RuPaul’s Drag Race and Brigette Bidet, Molly Rimswell, and Iv Fischer for the third annual Bottoms Up! Drag Brunch. Partake in bottomless Bloody Marys, a brunch bar buffet, and the photo booth.

Annual Drag Queen Brunch at Twisted Soul
12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Twisted Soul’s brunch menu gets laced with glitter for their annual Drag Queen Brunch featuring Amber Divine and Sandy Springs. Reservations encouraged.

Bottomless mimosas and brunch bites are on tap for this “hair of the dog” event. DJ Mike Pope and the Queens of Phoenix Entertainment will help people sweat it out on the dance floor.

Sunday, October 13

Atlanta Pride Parade
12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Midtown

The 49th annual Atlanta Pride parade steps off at 12 p.m. at the Civic Center MARTA station and heads east down Atlanta’s famed Peachtree Street toward its final destination at Piedmont Park, the heart of the festival. Bar and restaurant hop along the parade route.

Pride on the Terrace

Watch the Pride Parade from the terrace of Livingston Restaurant + Bar at the historic Georgian Terrace hotel with reserved seating, cocktails, and a brunch buffet. DJ Yvonne Monet will keep the music going all afternoon.

HRC Atlanta Pride Brunch

HRC (Human Rights Campaign) hosts Atlanta’s official Pride brunch on the terraces just above the best view of the parade at the corner of Peachtree and 10th streets. All proceeds go to HRC’s advocacy work across the country.

Henry’s Pride Parade Party
12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Henry’s Midtown Tavern, 132 10th Street NE

This kid-friendly parade viewing party includes food, cocktails, and dancing to DJs spinning music on the deck overlooking the route. Reservations encouraged for those wishing to dine.

The Lawrence Pride Patio Party
2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Lawrence, 905 Juniper Street NE

After the parade passes, head to the Lawrence for food, drinks, $5 punch, and music all benefiting Southern Fried Queer Pride.

Dragalicious Gospel Brunch

1 p.m. show. Reservations required.
$5 cover charge; $17.95 brunch per person

This Sunday service is all about sequins, heels, mimosas, and buttermilk pancakes.

Misc Edgewood
10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

It’s week three in this seven-week drag pageant competition. Head to Noni’s on Edgewood for a pre-show pasta dinner, then stay for drinks and all of the pageant shenanigans where the remaining nine competitors perform their most over-the-top satirical numbers.
