Vietnamese restaurant 285 Colonial Kitchen opens at the Prado

Vietnamese restaurant 285 Colonial Kitchen is now open at the Prado shopping complex off of Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. Owned by Duc Tran (575 Bistro), the restaurant serves lunch and dinner and includes dishes like pho, buttermilk shrimp banh mi, glazed duck leg confit, and Vietnamese coconut mussels on the menu. A portion of the restaurant’s proceeds goes to local women and children’s shelters as a tribute to the last queen of Vietnam, Nam Phuong Hoang Hau. [Official]

Taste of Atlanta kicks off tonight at Historic Fourth Ward Park

The 18th annual Taste of Atlanta begins tonight and runs through Sunday at Historic Fourth Ward Park, across from Ponce City Market. This year’s food festival features over 90 Atlanta area restaurants in the tasting tents, a brunch area, cooking demos, and music from Yacht Rock Revue. Tickets start at $25 and are available each day at the entrance to the festival. The event is rain or shine. [Official]

Butcher and Brew opens at Halcyon

A second location of Butcher and Brew opened at the new Halcyon development in southern Forsyth County earlier this week. The Alpharetta-based gastro pub and sports bar joins another beer-centric restaurant at the complex, Cherry Street Brewpub. The pub serves everything from fancy pigs in a blanket and truffle parmesan fries to a double cheeseburger and a steak sandwich on its menu. Butcher and Brew also includes 20 local and independent brewery beers on tap. [Official]
