Chef Richard Tang (Char Korean Bar & Grill) opens game bar Press Start next spring in the Summerhill neighborhood, Atlanta Magazine first reported. The two-story, old school arcade and bar resides across the street from Halfway Crooks Beer along Georgia Avenue’s bustling dining strip.

Tang, who also plans to open Asian seafood boil restaurant Girl Diver in Reynoldstown, wants to recapture some of his youth with Press Start. The chef says some of his fondest childhood memories are of playing games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter II at a neighborhood arcade.

“I’ve always wanted to create a place that brings people back to their childhoods, and as the vision for this restaurant has evolved, Press Start has become a passion project for me,” Tang says in the press release.

An assortment of classic arcade games and virtual reality consoles will be found on the first floor, while a rooftop patio will include shuffleboard, foosball, darts, and board games. As for food and drinks, expect Asian small plates and street foods, cocktails, beer, and wines by the glass.

Tang plans to keep the price point at Press Start reasonable, especially for longtime residents of the neighborhood and for Georgia State University students, many of whom live in the area. The university’s stadium is also one block west of the dining district.
