Buena Vida Tapas & Sol opens later this year at the North and Line complex across from Historic Fourth Ward Park along the Beltline. The 190-seat Spanish tapas restaurant is owned by Adam Berlin and Juan Calle of Big Sky Buckhead.
Berlin and Calle tapped chef Juan Hormiga to lead the kitchen. Hormiga, who currently works at Shamarkanda in Ibiza, will channel the coastal vibes of Southern Spain on the Beltline in the dishes and tapas for Buena Vida. The bar plans to feature cocktails, beer, and mainly Spanish wines on the menu.
The breezy resort feel of the restaurant, dotted by live plants and filled with “vibrant bohemian colors”, draws natural light from the two-story windows located in the bar and lounge area, which opens onto the dining room and a 50-seat patio, overlooking Historic Fourth Ward Park.
“Our goal with Buena Vida is to create a fun, approachable experience that brings together neighbors and visitors alike over truly authentic Spanish food and drinks,” Calle says in a prepared statement.
