Local Greek chain Grecian Gyro opens its seventh location in the Berkeley Heights complex on Northside Drive, Monday, June 3 at 11 a.m. It’s the first location within the city of Atlanta for the 37-year-old Greek restaurant. It replaces Blue Coast Burritos at the shopping center in the Berkeley Park neighborhood.

Unlike other iterations of the restaurant throughout metro Atlanta, Grecian Gyro’s first in-town establishment is double the size to the original Hapeville location and includes a market offering Greek beer and wine, olive oil, pasta, and feta cheese

In addition to the market, the restaurant will also eventually include an ice cream shop called Izzy’s European Ice Kreme, serving Greek-style ice cream (pagató), frozen Greek yogurt, hot fudge and Nutella sundaes, and banana splits. Izzy’s opens Friday, June 21.

Grecian Gyro, founded by Nick Koulouris in Hapeville in 1982, serves gyros, salads, and Greek-style platters on its menu. Other locations include Forest Park, Johns Creek, Dunwoody, Tucker, and Snellville.

Open Monday - Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
