Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria

Hip-hop-inspired Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria opens on Howell Mill Road Thursday, May 9 in the former One Rooster space, the AJC first reported. The popular North Nashville pizzeria, owned by college friends Clinton Gray, Derrick Moore, and Emanuel Reed, made an official announcement on social media over the weekend.

As with its three Nashville restaurants, the menu for Howell Mill features pizzas named for songs by various hip-hop and R&B artists like the Rony, Roni, Rone! named after the group Tony! Toni! Toné! It includes three types of pepperoni. The Cee No Green pays tribute to crooner CeeLo Green from Atlanta-based Goodie Mob. Gray, Moore, and Reed fed the pizza’s eponym prior to a Goodie Mob performance in Nashville last November.

Slim & Husky’s-Howell Mill also features over ten beers on tap from local Atlanta and Georgia breweries and murals by three Atlanta artists: Dizzy, Quake, and Jermaine Clark aka Xmaine.

In addition to Howell Mill and the previously announced Metropolitan Parkway location in Adair Park, the partners also plan to expand further in Atlanta.

“We really feel like Atlanta will be a great city for Slim & Husky’s. Opening here is big for us. I know our friends from Hattie B’s are finding success in Atlanta,” Gray told Eater Atlanta in January. “We hope to be the next Nashville restaurant to find success in Atlanta. We’re excited to be in the ATL.”

The Metropolitan Parkway restaurant, which hopes to open in October, will remain open late and include a takeout window to serve students attending Morehouse, Clark-Atlanta University, and Spelman.

Open Monday - Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
