A second location of meatless burger restaurant Slutty Vegan opens in the city of Jonesboro, 18 miles south of Atlanta, 11Alive News first reported. Clark Atlanta University graduate Pinky Cole took her vegan burger food truck sensation permanent in January, opening her first restaurant in the southwest Atlanta neighborhood of Westview.
Several commenters posted congratulatory messages to Slutty Vegan’s Instagram account. But, some questioned why Cole chose the south metro city in Clayton County over other locations closer to Atlanta. According to the replies left by someone representing Slutty Vegan on Instagram, Cole is looking to expand her meatless burger empire throughout Atlanta in the future.
On its first day in business on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard, Slutty Vegan sold over 1,200 meatless burgers. Lines to grab Cole’s version of the Impossible Burger form early, and often snake around the block.
Provocatively named meat-free burgers on the menu include the popular “One Night Stand” and “Ménage à Trois”. The Slutty Vegan food truck still rolls around town, announcing its next location at 3 p.m. each day on Instagram.
Eater Atlanta reached out to Cole for more information on the second restaurant and for its exact location in Jonesboro.
The Westview restaurant is open Tuesday - Friday, 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Saturday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.
