Marietta-based Doughnut Dollies opens its second location on Howell Mill Road this Friday, June 28, at 7 a.m. The 625-square-foot Buckhead doughnut shop, owned by chef Anna Gatti and Chris Gatti, includes seating for twelve people and a walk-up window to pick up doughnut preorders.
Doughnut Dollies’ name refers to a group of Red Cross volunteers who delivered coffee and doughnuts to U.S. soldiers during World War II. The shop offers over two dozen classic and seasonal doughnuts such as glazed, red velvet, salted caramel, and birthday cake, and serves Athens-based Jittery Joe’s coffee. Gluten free and alphabet letter doughnuts are also available at the shop.
Lenia Castro and Ernesto Castro created the mural along the side of the building.

This particular stretch of Howell Mill Road, between Collier Road and I-75, has undergone recent redevelopment — including new construction like the Berkshire apartments and its adjacent retail complex and the arrival of new restaurants such as Howell’s Kitchen & Bar, Cultivate Food and Coffee, and Zunzi’s Takeout & Catering.
Several of the area’s small shopping complexes also received facelifts over the last year. Neighborhood stalwart Fellini’s Pizza, at the corner of Howell Mill and Collier roads, underwent renovations in 2018 to update its interiors and freshen up the exterior.
