Junior’s Pizza opens Monday, August 5, on Georgia Avenue in the Summerhill neighborhood. The pizzeria, owned by Alex Aton and Jennifer Aton, began as a pizza delivery pop-up specializing in New York-style thin crust pies.
The menu includes Junior’s popular “cup and char” pepperoni (small pepperoni which curls when cooked) and Sicilian pizzas, salads, calzones, and vegan pie option. Pizzas come whole or by-the-slice. Junior’s also plans to offer beer and wine.
The Summerhill pizzeria features seating inside and outside on the patio and “pizza-inspired” murals throughout the dining room, created by local street and Atlanta tattoo artists, like Stenvik Moström of Liberty Tattoo.

The Atons, who began their pop-up pizza delivery service in 2017, were inspired by famed pizzerias like Prince Street Pizza in New York’s East Village.
Junior’s joins Wood’s Chapel BBQ, Little Tart Bakeshop, soft serve ice cream shop Big Softie, and brewery Halfway Crooks, already open in Summerhill. Future neighbors include: Little Bear from Eat Me Speak Me chef Jarrett Stieber, Concept from Hush Dinner Club founder Bea Lewis, Hot Dog Pete’s and Hero Doughnuts, Conspiracy Basement Drink Parlor, D Boca N Boca taqueria, and a another location of East Atlanta’s Hodgepodge Coffeehouse.
