Avondale Estates brewery Wild Heaven opens its West End Brewery and Gardens location today at the Lee and White complex along the Westside Beltline trail. The brewery swings open for 18 beers and nitro coffee on tap at 4 p.m., and will eventually feature a restaurant called Fina.
Wild Heaven posted about the opening on Instagram saying, “It took awhile, but we did it. It’s not the grand opening yet (missing some furniture, some decor, glassware and a couple other details) but we’re kinda quietly opening up our new brewery, patio and taproom (and event space, and soon, restaurant).”
Wild Heaven-West End spans 21,600-square-feet at the complex and includes an expansive patio and gardens overlooking the trail, a large taproom, and two private event spaces with a total of 68 rotating taps throughout the brewery. A seven-barrel brewhouse allows Wild Heaven brewmaster and co-owner Eric Johnson to create “innovative beers” to be consumed on the premises and for purchase in 16-ounce four packs,
William Baber (City Winery, Georgian Terrace hotel) joins Wild Heaven West End Brewery and Gardens as its director of hospitality and chef Eddie Russell (Argosy, Last Word, Parish, Farm 255, Five & Ten) tackles the food at the brewery’s upcoming counter-serve restaurant. Fina plans to offer “Latin fare” such as tacos and flatbread pizzas on its menu. A series of chef pop-ups is also in the works.
Owner Nick Purdy tells Eater Atlanta food is expected to begin in about two weeks, and more will be revealed on the restaurant “soon”.
A weekend-long grand opening takes place Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8. That Saturday, Wild Heaven-West End opens at 8:30 a.m. for yoga, live music, beer, and Fina’s full food menu. Beginning Monday, September 9, the taproom opens daily at 8 a.m. for Radio Roasters coffee, nitro coffee on tap, and pastries.
“It goes without saying that Georgia’s updated beer laws made it certain that we’d expand in our beloved home state, and we’re thrilled to do so in Atlanta, the capital of the South,” Purdy says in a prepared statement.
Wild Heaven joins Monday Night Brewing Garage brewery and taproom, American Spirit Works Whiskey Exchange and tasting room, beer and wine shop Hop City and its restaurant, Boxcar, and Cultured South fermented market and kombucha taproom at Lee and White.
